Painted floor. Whenever we think of updating a room we instantly think of painting the walls or getting new throw pillows, but what if you decided to do something with the floor instead? No, I’m not talking about pulling up your existing flooring and putting down new. I’m talking about painted floors. Now do I have your attention?
If you have a cement floor that is starting to show its age by cracking, then you may want consider this project. A painted floor is a great way to update a room while covering up cracks and stains at the same time.
You will want to make sure you seal up any major cracks and prime over any stains so they don’t seep through the new flooring.
Once that step is tackled, clean the entire space with a damp cloth to pick up all the dust and dirt.
When everything is clean, you are free to start painting. If you decide to stencil the floor, like in the photo, make sure you wait until the floor is dry. This will prevent you kneeling on any damp areas causing a smudge in the paint.
When you finish, step back and enjoy your work.
