Love this! Picked up some old shutters a few months ago and have been looking for a fresh idea. Perfect!
I decided to start visiting second hand stores after watching some do-it-yourself shows on cable. I have had so much fun sifting through all the items that are found in these stores trying to dream up new uses for each item. I remembered seeing a do-it-yourself project that involved shutters once and have been searching for this item ever since.
Shutters are so nostalgic and come in so many shapes, styles and colors. They are fun finds and can be used in a number of different ways.
This idea uses old shutters in a fresh, new way and I don’t think I could’ve thought of this on my own; a serving tray. Surprised? I was too, but look at how wonderful it looks in the picture.
There was no need to do anything with the shutter besides pulling off the old hardware. The chipped paint actually works well and it is the perfect length, so no need to cut away any ends.
Do something unique at your next dinner party and serve your guests with your very own shutter serving tray.
